Kuniyuki Takahashi

Kuniyuki Takahashi is based in Sapporo, Japan, and his music has always had a unique worldview regardless of national borders, and has been highly acclaimed by producers and DJs from around the world.

He has collaborated with international artists such as DJ Nature and Vakula, and an album of these collaborations will be released from sound of speed in 2017. He has also remixed Sakanaction’s song “Sample”, Amami shimauta singer Ikue Asasaki, and the traditional Ainu singing group “Maleureu”.

In recent years, he has been actively performing in Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, USA, and other countries in Japan and abroad, performing his unique style of improvisation and dance music.

“mule musiq” is one of the top labels in the underground music scene from Tokyo via Germany and is highly acclaimed worldwide.

The UK media has called it “the first great label to come out of Japan”, and XLR8R, the most influential music magazine in the USA, picked it as one of the 25 most important labels of 2008. The most influential music magazine in the U.S., “XLR8R,” named it one of the 25 most important labels of 2008. In addition, the most influential internet media “Resident Advisor” named him one of the 20 best labels of 2008 and 2009, and he is always in the spotlight.

As a DJ, he plays regularly in Europe and North America, and has regular parties “Endless Flight” and “Cats” at major clubs in Japan. In 2020, he will open STUDIO MULE, a music bar in Shibuya where you can enjoy obscure records and natural wine.
