World-renowned Choreographer Damien Jalet and Sculptor Kohei Nawa’s Latest Collaboration “Mirage [transitory]” Organized by Zero-Ten to Premiere in Fukuoka ahead of Int’l Tour
Show to Be Held at Immersive Theater THEATER 010 from September 27, 2024
Zero-Ten Inc., headquartered in Fukuoka City, a company that designs, develops and provides comprehensive production services for videos, events, websites, and more, presents “Mirage [transitory],” a new art performance created in collaboration with internationally acclaimed French-Belgian choreographer and dancer Damien Jalet and sculptor Kohei Nawa. The event will be held from September 27 (Friday) to October 6 (Sunday), 2024 at THEATER 010, an immersive theater attached to 010 BUILDING, a multi-purpose facility located in the Hakata area of Fukuoka, which combines world-class food and entertainment. Tickets are on sale now.
Mirage [transitory]
In this work, the dancers change their forms from moment to moment, just like the flickering light, the changing weather, or the evolving plants and animals. Through the interaction of these different forms, the boundaries between seemingly opposing concepts, such as life and death, the ancient and the future, as well as harmony and chaos, are explored. Eventually, the stage, where even the boundary between information and matter has become blurred, will become a place of transformation.
Damien Jalet and Kohei Nawa aim to depict the unknown landscape that lies beyond.

Profile
Damien Jalet
Damien Jalet is an independent French Belgian choreographer and dancer.
In addition to collaborating with sculptor Antony Gormley as well as musicians, choreographers, film directors, and designers, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, including choreographing for operas and music videos. In 2017, he was appointed Artistic Director of the National Youth Dance Company in the U.K.
Kohei Nawa
Born in 1975, and based in Kyoto, Japan, Kohei Nawa received a PhD in Fine Art/Sculpture from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2003, and established Sandwich in 2009. Focusing on the surface skin of sculpture based on his original concept of “cell (grains),” he has created numerous works that transcend genres such as three-dimensional, two-dimensional, installation, architecture, and performance art. Flexibly interpreting the definition of sculpture, he has created a perceptual experience that opens up the physical properties of the material to the viewer.
