KEN ISHII

KEN ISHII is a pioneer of futuristic, refined techno rooted in both global and Japanese aesthetics.

His track “Extra,” with a music video directed by Akira’s animation director Koji Morimoto, fused sound and visual storytelling in a way that defined an era. His composition for the international broadcast of the 1998 Nagano Olympics showcased techno’s cross-cultural power. In later years, he continued to push boundaries—performing at Tomorrowland, producing the entire soundtrack for Netflix anime Yakitori, and co-creating TECHNOH LAB., a groundbreaking fusion of techno and classical Japanese Noh theater.

Ishii remains committed to expanding techno’s potential through audiovisual and cross-genre experimentation.

Jun Inagawa channels cultural displacement and personal isolation into a unique blend of otaku culture and street aesthetics. His 2019 solo exhibition Magical Girl DESTROYERS introduced “Otaku Hero,” a character embodying his hybrid worldview, later echoed across multiple projects and animated works.

As a DJ, he reshapes the sounds of his youth—electro, techno, rave—into genre-defying sets within Tokyo’s underground scene. With the formation of his unit Frog 3, he seeks to embody electronic music with physical presence, blurring lines between sonic and visual expression.

Constantly reinventing himself, Inagawa is a “neo-geek” adventurer forging new artistic paths beyond fixed identities.
